three scholarships have been awarded to local graduating high school students

The Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that three scholarships have been awarded to local graduating high school students. 

Two (2) scholarships valued at $500 each are presented to candidates pursuing further post-secondary education in a business-related program in Thunder Bay. Congratulations to Brandon Bakish and Chiara Simeoni from St. Patrick High School who are both be attending Lakehead University in the fall.

One (1) Women in Trades Scholarship valued at $1,000 is presented to a candidate pursuing paths into the skilled trades in Thunder Bay sponsored by Itec 2000. Congratulations to Madison Lehr from St.Ignatius who is pursuing Electrical Engineering Technology at Confederation College this fall.

The Chamber of Commerce scholarship is now in its 30th year. The Chamber of Commerce Education, Training & Skills Development Taskforce is pleased to have supported many students over the years in advancing their education and careers.  We wish Brandon, Chiara, and Madison every success in their post-secondary educational pursuits.

Virtual learning sessions for employers across Canada

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is offering a virtual learning series to show employers how they can make use of Canada’s immigration programs and services.

Each session will feature a new topic and will give employers an opportunity to ask questions. Attend one or all sessions based on your interests and needs.
